Role Summary

In the capacity of a Behavioral Training Specialist, you will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of care for our clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your responsibilities will include training new staff members, conducting performance observations, and ensuring the fidelity of treatment across all personnel levels. Collaborating closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Program Coordinators, you will help to advance our behavior therapy services.

Qualifications

  • Availability for a work schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Other scheduling requests will be considered on an individual basis.
  • EIDBI Level 1 (preferred) or Level 2 certification.

Level 1 Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or possess a master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Have a minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical experience or training.

Level 2 Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral or child development sciences or a related field with one of the following: 1,000 hours of clinical experience, completion of approved graduate coursework, or certification as a BCaBA or RBT.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in behavioral or child development sciences with a commitment to complete 1,000 hours of supervised experience.
  • 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.

Key Responsibilities

Training and Development:

  • Facilitate new employee orientation regarding clinic policies and procedures.
  • Instruct staff on behavior analytic principles utilizing behavioral skills training techniques.
  • Demonstrate skill application in both 1:1 and 2:1 sessions for new hires.
  • Evaluate treatment integrity through direct observation and guidance of providers.
  • Offer consistent and constructive feedback to all staff members.
  • Conduct initial competency assessments for new providers.
  • Stay informed on client programming and behavior interventions.
  • Guide staff on effective prompting strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Communicate programmatic concerns with program coordinators or BCBAs.
  • Oversee training schedules for new hires during their initial 30-60 days.
  • Collaborate with team trainers and BCBAs to update training materials.
  • Develop additional assessment tools as necessary.
  • Provide supervision for certification/licensure when applicable.

Client-Centered Therapy:

  • Deliver individualized therapy sessions using behavior analysis principles.
  • Implement tailored treatment plans aimed at achieving specific goals.
  • Utilize positive and proactive behavior management strategies.
  • Accurately collect data and complete session documentation.
  • Incorporate supervisor feedback to improve therapy and client outcomes.
  • Conduct various assessments (baseline, functional behavior, etc.) as assigned.

General Duties:

  • Achieve and maintain competencies with a minimum of 90% accuracy within the first 90 days of employment, with annual maintenance thereafter.
  • Maintain billable hours: 50% during new hire training, 75% otherwise.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center throughout treatment days.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in addressing client, family, and agency needs.
  • Adhere to company values: client-focused, ethical, supportive, dedicated, and integrity-driven.
  • Comply with ethical codes of supervising professionals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand/Walk: Constantly, 67-100% of the time.
  • Sit: Frequently, 34-66% of the time.
  • Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs.: Occasionally, 1-33% of the time.
  • Squat/Kneel: Constantly, 67-100% of the time.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently, 34-66% of the time.
