Position Overview

As an Environmental Air Quality Specialist, you will collaborate with project managers and senior personnel to support clients across various sectors including manufacturing, energy, natural gas, mining, and waste management. Your primary focus will be to facilitate the acquisition of air quality permits, enhance operational capabilities, and ensure adherence to both state and federal environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass both fieldwork and office-based tasks. Field activities may involve:
  • Conducting meteorological assessments
  • Performing ambient air quality monitoring
  • Executing real-time pollutant concentration measurements
  • Assessing visible emissions from various sources
  • Engaging in related environmental activities

Office responsibilities will demand strong analytical skills and effective communication to:
  • Analyze environmental data
  • Perform necessary calculations
  • Understand and apply environmental regulations
  • Complete regulatory documentation

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Meteorology, or a related discipline
  • Experience in atmospheric emission inventory calculations and air permit application processes
  • 5-8 years of experience in consulting, compliance, or relevant industry
  • Familiarity with regulations from Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and USEPA air quality standards
  • Knowledge of New Source Review procedures
  • Understanding of air compliance requirements in the natural gas, manufacturing, or energy sectors
  • Experience with dispersion modeling, particularly using AERMOD
