Position: Air Quality Engineer/Scientist

Job Overview

As an Air Quality Engineer/Scientist, you will collaborate with project managers and senior professionals to support clients across various sectors, including manufacturing, energy, natural gas, mining, and waste management. Your role will be pivotal in securing air quality permits, enhancing operational capabilities, and ensuring adherence to state and federal environmental regulations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fieldwork involving meteorological assessments, ambient air quality monitoring, and real-time pollutant concentration measurements.
  • Perform evaluations of visible emissions and engage in related field activities.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to assess data, execute calculations, and familiarize yourself with environmental regulations.
  • Complete necessary regulatory documentation with precision.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Meteorology, or a related discipline. A background in atmospheric emission inventory calculations, air permit application processes, and pollution control technologies is essential. Candidates should have 5-8 years of relevant consulting, compliance, or industry experience, along with knowledge of regulations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and USEPA air quality standards.

Familiarity with New Source Review procedures and air compliance requirements in the natural gas, manufacturing, or energy sectors is preferred. Experience with dispersion modeling using AERMOD is also beneficial.
