Overview:
As an Air Quality Engineer/Scientist, you will collaborate with project managers and senior personnel to support clients across various sectors, including manufacturing, energy, natural gas, mining, and waste management. Your role will be crucial in assisting these clients to secure air quality permits, enhance their operational capabilities, and adhere to both state and federal environmental regulations.
This position involves a mix of fieldwork and office responsibilities. Field activities may encompass meteorological assessments, ambient air quality monitoring, real-time pollutant concentration measurements, and visual inspections of emissions.
In the office, you will utilize your analytical skills and effective communication to assess data, conduct calculations, familiarize yourself with environmental regulations, and complete necessary regulatory documentation.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Meteorology, or a related discipline.
- Experience in atmospheric emission inventory calculations, preparation of air permit applications, and pollution control technologies.
- 5-8 years of experience in consulting, compliance, or industry settings.
- Familiarity with regulations from Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and USEPA air quality standards.
- Understanding of New Source Review processes.
- Knowledge of air compliance requirements specific to the natural gas, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
- Experience with dispersion modeling, particularly using AERMOD.
