Launch Engineer, Operations & Test Engineering (Falcon Integration)

SpaceX is a pioneering space exploration company that aims to make humanity a multi-planetary species. We are seeking a highly skilled Launch Engineer to join our Operations and Test Engineering team, responsible for the recovery, refurbishment, and integration of new and flight-proven vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and standardize procedures for the recovery, refurbishment, and integration of new and flight-proven vehicles.
  • Design software and automation tools to enable autonomous vehicle operations and conduct vehicle system testing.
  • Assist with integration and testing of flight hardware, collaborating with field technicians and specialists.
  • Ensure flight readiness by reviewing test results and resolving off-nominal test results.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and equipment to eliminate production waste.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or fluid systems.
  • Expert-level first-principles engineering knowledge.
  • Experience working with software systems and writing/de-bugging code.
  • Experience writing test plans and test procedures.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working on projects involving the integration of electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Professional experience testing and operating with or around hazardous systems.
  • Flight hardware avionics experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with a wide range of people.
Additional Requirements:
  • Mental fitness to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment.
  • Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying light weight materials or equipment.
  • Ability to travel to other SpaceX locations as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive salary range: $95,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various discounts and perks.
