POSITION: LAUNCH ENGINEER, VEHICLE INTEGRATION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Formulate and implement protocols for the evaluation and assembly of flight hardware, client spacecraft, and ground support systems.

2. Oversee the processing of launch vehicles and payloads.

3. Assist in the design, construction, and upkeep of facilities for vehicle and spacecraft payload processing.

4. Collaborate closely with engineering teams from various departments and skilled technicians.

5. Identify and resolve technical challenges alongside local teams and the broader SpaceX workforce.

6. Engage with multiple departments across the organization, influencing various aspects of rocket operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
- At least 2 years of experience with intricate mechanical systems.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Practical experience with aerospace vehicles, payloads, automotive systems, aircraft systems, or marine systems.
- Solid background in handling hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Proficient in drafting test plans and procedures.

Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: launch vehicle or spacecraft integration, operations in cleanrooms of 100,000 class or better, testing operations involving gases/fluids, or setting up data acquisition and conducting field measurements.

- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The position is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
- Physical dexterity is essential due to the confined spaces in which flight hardware is assembled.
- The role may require physical activities, including standing, lifting, and transporting moderately heavy materials or equipment (15 to 50 lbs.).
- Willingness to work outdoors and extended hours, including weekends, as necessary to support launch operations.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
- Must successfully pass a background check.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
