Position Overview

We are seeking a multi-faceted engineer within the Launch Community, dedicated to specialty engineering responsibilities. This role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to anomaly investigations, technical studies, and serving as a task leader. The ideal candidate will apply extensive technical knowledge and possess a comprehensive understanding of related engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive assignments framed as objectives and establish clear goals to achieve these objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure alignment with established policies and successful goal attainment.
  • Conduct work with minimal supervision, demonstrating significant autonomy in determining technical objectives.
  • Review completed work from a long-term perspective to ensure desired outcomes are met.
  • Exercise discretion in selecting appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.

This role will also involve leading the successful execution of major programs, where erroneous decisions could hinder the achievement of critical organizational goals.

Technical Liaison

In addition, the engineer will serve as the primary technical contact for contracts and projects, engaging with senior external personnel on significant technical issues that often necessitate inter-organizational coordination.

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s degree is required, accompanied by a minimum of nine years of relevant experience. Alternatively, six additional years of experience in the Launch community may substitute for the degree.
  2. Proven leadership experience within the Launch Community.
  3. Strong background in launch policies, procedures, and protocols.
  4. Must possess TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
