Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Launch Vehicle Systems Engineer to join our team at ManTech. As a Launch Vehicle Integrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful integration of launch systems for our Air Force/Space Force Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide launch system integration support to the SSC AATS NSSL Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance (LVMA) Team.
  • Support the United Launch Alliance Atlas/Vulcan family of launch vehicles and SpaceX Falcon/Falcon Heavy launch vehicles, including launch complexes.
  • Conduct launch vehicle to spacecraft integration efforts and support new Launch Service Providers as they are brought on contract.
  • Perform concept analysis, analysis/review of designs and test plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, complex system analysis, and documentation preparation for complex systems.
  • Provide evaluation, assessment, and status of Launch Service provider (LSP) processing activities and problem resolution.
  • Provide technical assessments of launch campaign planning to support various readiness review processes.
  • Develop and maintain program plans.
  • Manage console operations and monitor/analyze real-time launch vehicle data.
  • Develop mission unique requirements and derived requirements identification.
  • Monitor and verify all launch vehicle and satellite vehicle interface requirements, including satellite vehicle transportation and processing requirements.
  • Assess payload integration requirements, the ability of the LSP and the Range to meet payload requirements, and assist in identifying risks/issues to the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Launch Mission Manager and Space Launch Delta 45 Leadership.
  • Provide technical evaluation of and production of technical products for on-console NSSL launch/processing operations and rehearsals.
  • Assess, evaluate, update, and execute the Rehearsal Anomaly Team process, including developing and executing anomaly scenarios, scheduling necessary exercise resources, and supporting the lessons-learned process.
  • Provide Engineering Launch Support System (ELSS) support to the LVMA Team during mission operations and facilitate Launch Support Center user requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field.
  • 12 years of DoD/Launch/Range/Spacelift Integration experience.
  • Experience in system engineering and project management, working with senior Government program managers and various contractor support staffs, as well as in a multi-disciplinary, geographically separated team environment.
  • Familiarity with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, providers, and operations.
  • Flexibility to support mission operations during non-standard business hours/days, with the expectation to perform those duties over multiple attempts.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • SECRET Clearance.

  • TS/SCI Desired.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide briefings to large groups.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, and maintain a positive professional attitude.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, operational environment and react to real-world system outages by applying critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
