Job Title: Creative Marketing Copy Specialist at Commonwealth of Virginia

The Marketing team at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Creative Marketing Copy Specialist who is enthusiastic about generating innovative concepts, crafting persuasive language, and enhancing the narrative, tone, and voice of the organization.

In this role, your primary focus will be to encapsulate the essence of the Commonwealth and translate it into engaging marketing and public relations content that aligns with the organization's goals, suits the selected platform, and resonates with a wide range of audiences, including citizens, stakeholders, and community leaders. You should be a proactive individual, skilled in developing ideas and content across various initiatives while collaborating with different departments within the Commonwealth.

Potential Projects Include:
  • Creating content for digital and print marketing campaigns
  • Partnering with the Digital Strategy team to produce captivating online content
  • Collaborating with the Video Production team on script development
  • Supporting the Licensing team with branding and marketing products
  • Ensuring brand consistency in campaigns with the Marketing team
  • Transforming news articles into social media content for diverse platforms
Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing clear, compelling, and on-brand copy based on original ideas
  • Collaborating with various teams and professionals
  • Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Adhering to established style guides and standards
  • Providing strategic insights and rationale behind content decisions
  • Managing projects from inception to completion
Qualifications for Success:
  • Possess 3+ years of copywriting experience or equivalent
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of copywriting principles
  • Be creative, self-driven, and a collaborative team member

  • Have a good sense of humor

Compensation Range:
$60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
