Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dynamic and innovative Visual Content Creator and Multimedia Specialist to enhance its Communications team. This role is pivotal in showcasing the state's impactful initiatives and diverse community through engaging visual narratives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality photo and video content in various settings, both on-site and in studio environments.
  • Ensure optimal lighting and sound quality for all visual media.
  • Manage production timelines and coordinate locations effectively.
  • Edit and process visual content promptly to meet project deadlines.
  • Organize, tag, and archive multimedia assets within the state's digital asset management systems.
  • Adhere to accessibility standards in all produced content.
  • Create supporting materials such as captions, scripts, and talking points for multimedia projects.
  • Upload and manage content across the state's official website and social media platforms.
  • Oversee subscriptions and platforms related to video production and photography.
  • Maintain and secure all necessary equipment for multimedia production.
  • Collaborate with team members on creative and editorial decisions.
  • Provide excellent service to stakeholders across various departments.
  • Enhance processes and tools to improve team efficiency.
  • Represent the diversity of Virginia's community in all visual content created.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative abilities and teamwork experience.
  • Proficiency in professional multimedia equipment and software.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with digital asset management and web content management systems.
  • An understanding of marketing and communications principles, with a keen interest in digital and social media trends.
