Position Overview

Apex Clean Energy is in search of a Supply Chain Specialist to join our Procurement Team. This role involves assisting in the preparation and coordination of the procurement processes essential for the successful development and implementation of renewable energy projects. Reporting directly to the Director of Project Management, this position is integral to the company’s strategic objectives, requiring careful planning and analysis to secure goods and services at optimal value.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and knowledge in renewable energy systems, engineering concepts, project management methodologies, and procurement practices. Familiarity with photovoltaic and energy storage systems is highly advantageous. Experience in preconstruction project processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the procurement team by evaluating suppliers to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Draft formal requests for proposals related to goods and services.
  • Assess project, consultant, and equipment proposals; make decisions on supplier selection.
  • Monitor supplier performance regarding delivery and pricing, collaborating with internal departments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Project Management team and external consultants/vendors.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of renewable energy systems, engineering principles, and project management processes.
  • Analyze current market trends, risks, and pricing strategies.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships within the renewable energy sector.
  • Communicate project and equipment updates to various stakeholders.
Qualifications

To thrive as a Supply Chain Specialist at Apex Clean Energy, candidates should meet the following criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of pertinent experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of the procurement process with experience in contract negotiations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities; adept at managing multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Fundamental knowledge of effective document management.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
  • Experience with energy storage systems, solar, and wind projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Experience in generating and maintaining capital expenditures for projects.
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, initiative, and creativity.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional demeanor and conduct.
Work Environment
