Role of Manufacturing Engineer
The primary focus of this role is to spearhead departmental and organizational initiatives through ongoing process enhancements, elevating customer satisfaction, minimizing waste, boosting productivity, and reducing variability in manufacturing operations. Ideal candidates will possess the enthusiasm and commitment to enhance both production and operational processes while exemplifying integrity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with operations, research, development & innovation, quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain teams to foster improvements.
  • Support fabrication and assembly processes with an emphasis on enhancing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Engage closely with production supervisors, team leaders, and employees to conduct problem-solving and root cause investigations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Drive cost-saving measures and yield enhancements with delivery partners.
  • Employ effective project management techniques for complex projects and key initiatives.
  • Enhance equipment performance and dependability.
  • Identify opportunities for error-proofing and implement effective solutions.
  • Address daily production requirements such as equipment troubleshooting and quality issues.
  • Oversee the design, acquisition, and implementation of capital equipment projects.
  • Create operator balance charts, machine balance charts, and staffing guides for assembly work cells.
  • Collaborate with the ongoing product development team to execute product design modifications and line extensions, ensuring a collaborative and safe environment within the value stream.
  • Encourage a hands-on, highly participative approach to problem-solving.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Open to various levels of experience.
  • Experience in equipment procurement.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and process capability.
  • Positive demeanor with a commitment to building relationships and serving both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, effective in both one-on-one and group settings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in robotics, design and simulation of manufacturing systems, and vision systems.

PROFIT SHARING:

In the upcoming year, Andersen has established a profit-sharing target of $4,000 for eligible employees, prorated as necessary. Profit sharing will be distributed in quarterly installments, aligning with quarterly operating profit performance.
