Role Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer III will play a pivotal role in enhancing manufacturing operations by spearheading key initiatives aimed at continuous improvement. The focus will be on elevating customer satisfaction, minimizing waste, boosting efficiency, and standardizing manufacturing processes. Candidates should possess a strong drive and enthusiasm for refining both production and operational workflows while upholding ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operations, research, development, and innovation, quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain teams to foster enhancements.
- Support fabrication and assembly processes with an emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Engage closely with production supervisors, team leaders, and employees to conduct problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Lead projects focused on continuous improvement, adhering to lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Drive cost reduction and yield enhancement initiatives with external partners.
- Employ effective project management techniques for complex initiatives.
- Enhance equipment performance and dependability.
- Identify and implement error-proofing opportunities.
- Address daily production challenges, including equipment troubleshooting and quality issues.
- Oversee the design, acquisition, and implementation of capital equipment projects.
- Create operator balance charts, machine balance charts, and staffing guidelines for assembly workstations.
- Collaborate with product development teams to integrate design modifications and product line extensions.
- Maintain a visible presence within the value stream to foster a collaborative and safe environment.
- Advocate for a hands-on, participatory approach to problem-solving.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology.
- Over 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in equipment procurement.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with quality systems, statistical process control, and process capability.
- Positive demeanor with a commitment to building relationships and serving both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, effective in both individual and group settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in robotics, manufacturing system design and simulation, and vision systems.
