Job Summary

Charlton Oil and Propane is seeking a seasoned Service Manager to oversee a team of 6 technicians and a master plumber. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and a hands-on approach to managing a service team.

The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient service operations, customer satisfaction, and mentoring the team of service technicians. This role requires a capable leader who can effectively manage a team, communicate with customers and partners, and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring timely and efficient dispatching and job completion.
    • Monitor and mentor service technicians. Review and approve weekly time cards.
    • Coordinate with other departments for permitting, service scheduling and billing.
    • Serve in on-call rotation as needed and be available for service technician support.
  • Customer Service:
    • Address and resolve customer complaints and service issues.
    • Maintain strong relationships with customers and partners in our community.
    • Communicate with office staff to coordinate service work and customer expectations.
    • Provide quotations for new installations, major repairs and equipment upgrades
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure service activities comply with regulations and safety standards.
    • Conduct safety training and inspections to maintain a safe working environment and customer installations.
    • Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing a team of employees
  • Relevant certifications and training in the oil, propane, HVAC industry are necessary
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills (word, excel), ability to use phone and tablet apps
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
