The ideal candidate will proactively engage with guests to enhance their dining experience, anticipating their needs and fostering positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu offerings, including ingredients and potential allergens, to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Ensure that all menus and wine lists are well-stocked, clean, and in good condition for each service period.
  • Keep the host stand equipped with necessary supplies such as writing instruments, reservation logs, and daily event sheets.
  • Review daily occupancy rates, group bookings, VIP guests, and any special events to prepare for service.
  • Organize seating arrangements and prepare seating charts to optimize guest flow.
  • Greet and escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and wishing them an enjoyable meal.
  • Manage the waiting list for guests and monitor the flow of service throughout the dining area.
  • Accommodate special requests from guests whenever feasible to enhance their experience.
  • Handle incoming calls for reservations and cancellations with professionalism.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed about daily operations.
  • Consistently offer a warm greeting and maintain a friendly demeanor with all guests.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information at all times.
  • Adhere to professional appearance standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Role may involve repetitive motion tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a host or front desk position; experience in a membership-based environment is advantageous.
  • Proficient knowledge of reservation systems is essential.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must possess a valid, non-expired Food Handlers' card.
