Job Summary

The Records Technician position at Baltimore City Public Schools is a critical role that requires a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage and maintain accurate student records. This position is responsible for providing support to the Records Management department, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, and maintaining confidentiality of student information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and implementation of records management systems and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student information, including transcripts, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on records management software and systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with state and local regulations regarding student records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and ensure secure storage and disposal of records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in records management or a related field.
  • Experience working with student information systems and databases.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
