Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Municipal Services Leader to join our team at Apex Engineering Group. As a key member of our municipal sector, you will be responsible for managing and growing our municipal services in the North Dakota market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to discuss potential project opportunities, RFPs, and contract reviews.
  • Strategic Partnerships
    • Establish and maintain key strategic partnerships to effectively win work and deliver quality municipal and infrastructure design and construction services.
  • Business Development
    • Collaborate with other sector leaders to pursue new project and client opportunities.
    • Develop and execute short and long-term revenue goals, monitor project budgets, and recruit key staff.
  • Leadership and Mentorship
    • Mentor project engineers in areas of contract development, project profitability, and risk management.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Participate in business development and marketing activities related to municipal services with potential new clients and existing municipal clients.
    • Attend conferences and professional seminars to further Apex's mission to grow ND municipal services.
  • Project Pursuit and Management
    • Coordinate and direct project pursuit efforts by participating in prospecting, positioning, proposing, and performance for specific projects.
  • Financial and Progress Reporting
    • Provide financial and progress reports to the Municipal Sector Leader on ND Municipal related operations.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest civil engineering technical advancements, technology, and concepts in the ND Municipal market.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
    • 10+ years of municipal engineering experience and a minimum of 7 years project management experience, predominantly in the State of ND.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • Licensed engineer to practice engineering within the State of ND.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Experience and working knowledge preferred in municipal engineering, construction, and public works/utilities in ND.
    • Experience and working knowledge with public agencies located in North Dakota.
    • Experience with developing business and managing personnel in the consulting engineering industry is preferred.
    • Proficient using Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions.
    • Must be able to clearly articulate both verbal and written communications.
    • Required to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
