POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a key member of the Plant Engineering Team, you will collaborate with fellow electrical and mechanical engineers to design and implement new systems and upgrade existing ones throughout the manufacturing facility. Your efforts will enhance productivity, safety, and quality in our operations. You will also provide essential engineering support to the maintenance team, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving equipment challenges.

Compensation: $110,000 to $130,000 annually

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you will be expected to adhere to safe work practices and comply with company policies and procedures regarding job safety. All tasks must be performed with integrity, professionalism, and in alignment with applicable company guidelines. If you encounter any uncertainties regarding company policies, you are encouraged to seek clarification from your supervisors or authorized representatives.

  • Utilize AutoCAD Electrical to create comprehensive control designs for new installations and modifications, including schematics, single line diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Program PLC and Human Machine Interface devices using Siemens S7, WINCC, and Allen Bradley RS Logix, along with RS View and Automation Direct.
  • Manage assigned projects or assist as a project engineer in larger, multidisciplinary initiatives.
  • Project engineering duties encompass:
    • Issuing RFQs
    • Researching and selecting suitable hardware and software
    • Choosing installation vendors
    • Developing project budgets
    • Employing Microsoft Project for project planning
    • Overseeing installation alongside other project engineers
    • Commissioning completed installations
  • Support production and maintenance teams by diagnosing equipment issues and offering technical guidance during maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical assistance during maintenance overhauls and routine electrical testing.
  • Develop best practices and operational procedures.
  • Assist in the training and development of team members within the plant engineering and maintenance departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Over 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming, including Siemens Step 7 and Allen Bradley systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting control, communication, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as DH+, Remote IO, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, and Profinet.
  • Experience with Kepware KEP Server EX.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase motor control and VFDs.
  • Experience with DC motors and variable speed drives.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems ranging from 24V to 4160V.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including valves and feedback devices.
  • Knowledge of natural gas-fired furnaces and hydraulic forging presses.
  • Experience in heavy industry is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 and AutoCAD Electrical 2022.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with various organizational levels.
