Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive individual to oversee and coordinate critical maintenance operations while delivering automation controls assistance in a dynamic baking or distribution environment.

The ideal candidate should possess a foundational understanding of industrial facilities, coupled with robust problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities, particularly in electrical and industrial control systems.

This role necessitates familiarity with the latest iterations of the Allen Bradley PLC family, VFDs, and HMIs/OITs, alongside a comprehensive grasp of electrical control systems, mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, PCs, robotics, and control networks.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate expertise in SLC 500 and Logix 5000 series PLCs, along with PanelView ME Studio Programming to Levels 4 and 5.
  • Possess knowledge of Kinetix Servo systems.
  • Understand Sequential Flow Chart Programming and Logix 5000.
  • Have proficiency in EnetIP Networks and fault diagnosis.
  • Be familiar with Rockwell SE and Historian.
  • Comprehend computer operating systems such as Windows 10, Server 2019, and Thin Clients.
  • Analyze key plant metrics and equipment data to pinpoint opportunities for continuous improvement, leading a team to devise engineered solutions.
  • Offer electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls support to the maintenance team.
  • Assist in managing manufacturing control networks, understanding IP addressing, machine network switches, and VLAN topology, while acting as a liaison between plant personnel, corporate engineering, and IT as necessary.
  • Oversee Rockwell Automation and other software/hardware on departmental computers, ensuring all control devices are updated with the latest firmware and software revisions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library for all control device backups and updates.
  • Collaborate closely with operations management to provide effective controls support.
  • Lead Predictive Maintenance initiatives by training maintenance personnel in Thermography, Ultrasonic Leak Detection, and Vibration Analysis.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained, safeguarded, and operated in accordance with established safety regulations and procedures.
  • Identify potential cost savings and implement continuous improvement projects to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Participate in budget planning for the area and department.
  • Inspect new equipment with suppliers to ensure compliance with corporate electrical specifications.
  • Guarantee that all new and retrofitted equipment has optimized electrical preventive maintenance.
  • Support other facilities as needed, which may involve minor travel.
  • Be responsible for mentoring, developing, training, and validating the knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and control systems among mechanics.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the automation sector.
  • A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates competency in the role may be considered.
  • Specific equipment knowledge may be required based on the location.
  • Strong experience with software packages such as Rockwell Controls Software, AutoCAD (preferred), and Microsoft Office.
  • Extensive electrical knowledge and experience with electrical and industrial control systems.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills are essential.
  • Experience in a food processing environment is advantageous.
