Position Overview

The **County Extension 4-H Program Assistant** serves as a vital support role within the 4-H educational framework, collaborating closely with County Extension Agents to implement and manage programs in designated areas. This position is integral to the daily operations of the 4-H program, ensuring effective delivery and engagement with participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Delivery: Facilitate in-school club meetings and present established curricula that align with state educational standards.
  • Recruitment: Actively seek out and enroll students in 4-H programs, while also engaging and guiding volunteers through the screening process.
  • Event Preparation: Assist participants in their readiness for competitive events, including project achievements and judging teams.
  • Transportation Coordination: Organize and provide transportation for participants to district and state events, ensuring leadership and support during these activities.
  • Outreach: Utilize local media and online platforms to promote 4-H events and highlight participant accomplishments.

Professional Development
  • Engage in training sessions and activities as directed, including overnight and weekend commitments.
  • Participate in collaborative planning and evaluation meetings with staff and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Adhere to the principles of equal opportunity in all activities and responsibilities.

Reporting and Resource Management
