Job Summary

This is an exempt professional staff role within UGA Extension, responsible for coordinating and delivering the 4-H county program. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the assigned 4-H Agent and County Extension Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Develop and implement educational programs for 4-H youth, including teaching, mentoring, and evaluating program effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with 4-H Agents, County Coordinators, and District Staff to plan and deliver programs that meet the needs of 4-H members and the community.
  • Volunteer Management
    • Recruit, train, and supervise 4-H volunteers to assist with program delivery and evaluation.
    • Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain volunteers, ensuring a strong and diverse team of leaders.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Develop and disseminate program information to 4-H members, parents, and community stakeholders through various channels, including electronic media and in-person meetings.
    • Prepare and submit reports to stakeholders, including program evaluations, enrollment data, and other relevant information.
  • Administrative Support
    • Provide administrative support to the 4-H Agent and County Coordinator, including answering phone calls, processing mail, and maintaining office supplies.
    • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Cooperative Extension county office, as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, youth development, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and program development skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and program excellence.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as driving may be required for program delivery and other work-related activities.
