Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Systems Engineering Lead with extensive experience in model-based design and simulation frameworks. This role is pivotal in applying advanced systems engineering methodologies to our major development initiatives, significantly influencing our strategic goals. Your technical expertise will be essential in the successful design, integration, and deployment of cutting-edge aviation technologies. As a vital member of our engineering team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to provide innovative solutions that fulfill the requirements of our aviation clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the implementation of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  2. Utilize agile methodologies to create a digital twin modeling framework that supports requirements allocation, design optimization, and functional modeling.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective integration of MBSE and digital twin strategies within our development processes.
  4. Employ systems engineering tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw and MATLAB for system design and analysis.
  5. Conduct system architecture design, requirements management, verification, validation, and risk assessment activities.
  6. Oversee the systems engineering lifecycle for complex aviation systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and project requirements.
  7. Perform trade studies to analyze various design options, including cost estimates for development and operations.
  8. Work alongside software and hardware engineers to develop system architectures that enhance performance and reliability.
  9. Manage system integration, verification, and validation efforts to meet functional and performance standards.
  10. Conduct risk evaluations and implement strategies to mitigate technical challenges, ensuring system safety and interoperability.
  11. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  12. Collaborate with project managers to create project plans, track progress, and ensure timely achievement of objectives.
  13. Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and test plans, ensuring thoroughness and compliance.
  14. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field with over 10 years of relevant experience.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to engage with customers and build effective relationships.

Experience in applying Model-Based Systems Engineering principles to develop SysML models.

Familiarity with DOORS requirement management tools.

A current U.S. Security Clearance is preferred; the ability to obtain one is necessary.
