Role Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Systems Engineering Lead with extensive experience in model-based design and simulation frameworks. This position is vital for the integration of advanced systems engineering methodologies into our significant development initiatives, playing a key role in achieving our strategic goals. Your technical acumen will be essential in ensuring the effective design, integration, and deployment of pioneering aviation technologies. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions tailored to our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the implementation of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  2. Utilize agile methodologies to establish a digital twin modeling framework that supports requirements management, design optimization, and collaborative modeling.
  3. Work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of MBSE and digital twin concepts into our development processes.
  4. Employ systems engineering tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw and MATLAB for system design and evaluation.
  5. Conduct system architecture design, requirements analysis, validation, and risk management tasks.
  6. Oversee the systems engineering lifecycle for complex aviation systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  7. Perform comprehensive trade studies to analyze various design alternatives, including cost estimations.
  8. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software and hardware engineers, to develop system architectures that enhance performance and reliability.
  9. Manage system integration, verification, and validation efforts to ensure alignment with functional requirements.
  10. Conduct risk assessments and devise strategies to mitigate technical challenges, ensuring system safety and interoperability.
  11. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  12. Assist project managers in developing project plans, tracking progress, and ensuring milestone achievements.
  13. Support the creation of technical documentation, including specifications and test plans, ensuring thoroughness and compliance.
  14. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field with over 10 years of relevant experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to interface with customers and build effective relationships.

Experience in applying Model-Based Systems Engineering principles to develop SysML models.

Familiarity with DOORS requirement management software.

Possession of a U.S. Security Clearance is preferred; the ability to obtain one is necessary.
