Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Systems Engineering Lead with extensive experience in model-based design and simulation frameworks. This position is vital for the integration of cutting-edge systems engineering methodologies into our significant development initiatives, directly influencing our strategic goals. Your technical acumen will play a pivotal role in the successful design, integration, and deployment of advanced aviation technologies. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders to create innovative solutions that fulfill the requirements of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Utilize agile methodologies to establish a digital twin modeling framework that supports requirements allocation, design optimization, and collaborative modeling.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective integration of MBSE and digital twin strategies within our development processes.
- Employ systems engineering tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw and MATLAB for system design and analysis.
- Conduct comprehensive system architecture design, requirements management, verification, validation, and risk assessment activities.
- Oversee the systems engineering lifecycle for complex aviation systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Perform system-level analysis of various design alternatives, including cost estimations for development and operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software and hardware engineers, to develop system architectures that enhance performance and reliability.
- Manage system integration, verification, and validation efforts to ensure compliance with performance objectives.
- Conduct risk evaluations and develop mitigation strategies to address technical challenges, ensuring system safety and interoperability.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Assist project managers in developing project plans, tracking progress, and ensuring timely achievement of project milestones.
- Support the creation of technical documentation, including system specifications and test plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Experience in customer engagement and relationship building is preferred.
Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and SysML modeling is required.
Familiarity with DOORS requirement management tools is advantageous.
An existing U.S. Security Clearance is preferred, with the ability to obtain one being necessary.
