Overview:

The Certified Training Specialist (CTS) plays a crucial role in the delivery of training, support, and all associated responsibilities linked to their designated applications.

The CTS collaborates with Principal Trainers, Analysts, Health System leaders, and Educational teams to ensure that end users are proficient in utilizing the system.

They identify individuals requiring additional assistance or training and provide necessary support. The CTS is credentialed in assigned applications and maintains a high level of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the planning, organization, and instruction of classes essential for the successful implementation and adoption of electronic health records.
2. Work closely with end users and Principal Trainers to ensure that training and support align with approved workflows.
3. Collaborate with Principal Trainers to guarantee coverage for all scheduled training sessions and support activities.
4. Ensure classroom readiness by preparing materials, organizing the space, and maintaining cleanliness.
5. Aid in the upkeep of classroom information on online learning platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
6. Provide on-site support to end users through various activities, proactively identifying support needs and offering innovative solutions.
7. Coordinate with the provisioning team to ensure associates complete necessary training prior to gaining access.
8. Review workflow documentation and articulate processes as they relate to electronic health records.
9. Customize and create job aids as assigned, adhering to approved templates and standardized style guides.
10. Attend meetings, deliver required outputs punctually, and escalate issues or concerns as necessary.
11. Conduct job shadows, deliver training, and build confidence among end users.
12. Advocate for end users by communicating issues or opportunities for improvement to Principal Trainers.
13. Test and troubleshoot the training and build environment as needed.
14. Deliver training that includes workflow-based and role-specific content, eLearning, job aids, and Learning Home Dashboards.
15. Operate with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment in routine cases.
16. Mentor and train team members within the training team.
17. Collaborate with senior team members to develop and validate training methods and techniques.
18. Address or escalate operational challenges to senior team members and management.
19. Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- Experience with adult learners in both in-person and virtual training settings is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in education, EPIC end user training, or a related field is required, with a preference for healthcare industry education.
- Previous experience as a Certified Trainer, End User, Informaticist, Analyst, Logistics Coordinator, or Facilitator for one or more Epic applications is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with instructional design, training, and the Epic system is preferred.
- Experience with multiple full-cycle implementations, post-live support, and quarterly upgrades is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
- Willingness to learn Excel, Teams, Shifts, Tasks, and Lists is necessary.
- Experience with any industry Learning Management System (LMS) is preferred.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Achieve designated Epic Credentialed status within an agreed timeframe.
- Cross-training in one or more Epic applications with Credentialed status is expected within an agreed timeframe.
