Overview:

The Senior Training Specialist plays a pivotal role in the instructional design and all associated tasks for their designated applications. This position is tasked with developing, testing, and sustaining the training environment, overseeing updates to training-related documentation, and facilitating training sessions for new personnel, including Credentialed Trainers. The Senior Training Specialist is expected to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the assigned software, policies, procedures, and workflows. As a vital member of the project team, this role involves engaging in discussions about the development, testing, and maintenance of the training environment, as well as creating and updating training materials for optimization programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with operational stakeholders, subject matter experts, informatics teams, and analysts to ensure training and support align with established workflows.
  • Work with Training Logistics Coordinators or Credentialed Trainers to organize and assign coverage for training sessions and support; ensure appropriate levels of end-user training.
  • Train and credential classroom trainers.
  • Guide and assist Credentialed Trainers in their daily responsibilities.
  • Participate in meetings, deliver required outputs punctually, and escalate any issues or concerns as necessary.
  • Oversee Instructional Design, including workflow-based and role-specific training content, eLearning modules, job aids, and Learning Home Dashboards.
  • Customize training materials, coordinate Curriculum Review Boards, maintain Deliverable Trackers, utilize approved templates, and adhere to standardized style guides.
  • Conduct job shadowing, deliver training, support end users, and mentor Credentialed Trainers as required.
  • Act as an advocate for end users by communicating issues or opportunities for enhancement to informatics and analysts.
  • Develop comprehensive curriculum content, including scenario-based training and job aids to support relevant policies and procedures.
  • Build, test, and maintain the training environment.
  • Facilitate training for specific application areas.
  • Provide onsite or remote support to operational users.
  • Deliver training as needed and support end users.
  • Gather end-user feedback for Analysts and identify strategies for system design and implementation improvements.
  • Coordinate training for new software releases and updates.
  • Manage post-live training for both new and existing users.
  • Maintain organization and communication skills to track multiple documents, attend meetings, and meet deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and teaching methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of the healthcare sector.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in designing and delivering software training curriculum for large healthcare systems is preferred.
  • Prior experience with testing and training on Epic Systems is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on schedule.
  • Experience with multiple MST Builds, full-cycle implementations, post-live support, and quarterly upgrades is preferred.
  • Participation in application training, Principal Trainer training, and completion of certification is required.
  • Epic certification or proficiency must be achieved within six months of employment.
