POSITION SUMMARY

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to oversee a range of enterprise-level IT initiatives and process enhancement projects. This role entails comprehensive project coordination, establishing and executing project management methodologies, and adhering to Alterra's program framework (across Business and IT sectors) to ensure timely project delivery, budget compliance, high-quality standards, and fulfillment of customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take primary responsibility for project leadership, ensuring completion and communication of all project deliverables, including project charters, phase-driven schedules, project timelines, milestones, status reports, resource plans, and budgets.
  • Manage, plan, and implement technology solutions, including requirements definition, system design, testing, deployment, training, and communication to align with organizational needs.
  • Provide regular, professional, and appropriate communication to project team members, department heads, business sponsors, and senior leadership. Proactively identify, track, and resolve issues, risks, and dependencies associated with managed projects, communicating these to the project team and senior leadership. Lead risk management identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Build strong relationships within business lines to understand needs and deliver value.
  • Collaborate with other project managers to identify interdependencies that may impact project success.
  • Demonstrate expertise in project management methodologies, facilitation skills, and change management techniques.
  • Partner with organizational leaders to assess strategic goals and alignment, define and design operational and/or policy-based solutions, and establish metrics for long-term project success.
  • Work under the guidance of the Director, IT Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Manage one or more medium to large-sized, moderately complex process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of direct project management experience, including defining project scope, developing schedules, budget estimates, resource planning, and risk assessment/mitigation for complex business and IT projects.
  • Experience implementing program and project processes across multiple organizational levels.
  • Proven success in collaborating with both technical personnel and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in systems implementation projects, including requirements gathering, vendor selection, functional and technical solution design, business process design, testing, deployment, and organizational change management.
  • A self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills; analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of managing transformative projects from conception to implementation.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions or conduct research for a comprehensive technical understanding.
  • A team player who motivates project teams, drives projects to success, and influences large cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
  • A high degree of perseverance, adaptability, and tolerance for ambiguity, comfortable shifting focus as project priorities change.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressures while maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mountain Company salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, education, training, location, merit system, and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees, which may include short-term and long-term incentives and various region-specific benefits.
