Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Desktop Support Specialist II is responsible for conducting system evaluations to identify suitable hardware, software, or application functionalities. This role involves investigating and providing advanced technical assistance to resolve any system-related issues that may disrupt user operations.

In alignment with project goals set forth by the Development and Infrastructure Manager, the position entails planning, executing, and implementing various projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

License Management

  • Conduct audits of licenses for all essential user software.
  • Remove licenses for inactive users.
  • Adjust plans based on usage as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of licenses assigned to users within the organization.

Software Update Oversight

  • Regularly verify that updates are deployed correctly via JAMF.

HiTrust Certification Support

  • Provide necessary documentation for IT compliance as per HiTrust and Dane Street standards.

Infrastructure Management

  • Assist with the management of onsite inventory at Dane Street's facilities, ensuring secure storage and availability for reassignment or business continuity.

Inventory Oversight

  • Perform weekly audits of inventory records.
  • Replenish accessories and devices as needed.
  • Test devices and accessories to ensure operational functionality.

Security Compliance

  • Engage in ongoing initiatives to uphold security measures in line with Dane Street policies.
  • Ensure that user devices and systems receive timely updates.

New Hire Equipment Preparation

  • Oversee the setup and configuration of new systems and software according to the new team member's role.

Supervision of Junior Analysts

  • Manage tasks related to Desktop Analyst I, including:
  • Support ticket management via Zendesk.
  • Hardware and software setup for new hires.
  • Training on IT protocols.
  • Managing out-of-office notifications.

Additional responsibilities and special projects may be assigned based on organizational needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A degree at the Associate or Bachelor's level is preferred.

EXPERIENCE IN RELEVANT FIELDS

Experience in a healthcare or insurance environment is advantageous.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Demonstrate exceptional communication abilities with a comprehensive understanding of company operations. Capable of applying critical thinking, managing time effectively, and adhering to deadlines. Proficiency in computer usage and typing skills is essential.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Physical demands may include lifting, bending, and travel as required to fulfill job responsibilities. The role involves extended periods of sitting and computer work.

REMOTE WORK REQUIREMENTS

Employees must provide and maintain their own internet services, ensuring a stable connection for remote work.

Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and specific skills. Alongside the base salary, a comprehensive benefits package is available, which includes health insurance, retirement plans, and performance bonuses.

COMPENSATION RANGE

$50,000 - $55,000 USD
