We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance and Accounting Specialist to join our team at PacifiCorp. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and counsel to management and client organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement policies and practices for the Finance/Accounting group, collaborating with the information technology team to automate tasks.
- Act as the top subject matter expert for a business unit, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
- Develop new processes and procedures that impact the business, ensuring compliance with internal and external auditor recommendations.
- Monitor compliance with internal and external auditor recommendations, identifying areas of potential risk and proposing process improvements and innovations.
- Report the company's performance relative to compliance requirements to senior management, reviewing business unit procedures and ensuring compliance with risk management policies.
- Plan and direct company-wide depreciation studies, representing the company in meetings and proceedings with senior management and regulatory commissions.
- Direct activities related to fixed asset depreciation system processing and reporting, analyzing and reconciling general ledger data, including preparing journal entries.
- Implement and manage internal controls to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, selecting, coaching, developing, and supervising employees.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of seven years relevant experience, with strong experience in the review and development of controls and oversight procedures, FERC and regulatory processes.
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), experience in financial statement preparation and analysis, and demonstrated proficiency in advanced accounting methodologies and procedures.
- Demonstrated understanding of risk metrics, proven ability to review policies and procedures, and determine validity and develop processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Ability to develop, document, implement, and enforce processes and procedures, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult and give direction to internal and external customers regarding highly complex accounting matters/issues.
- MBA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), with a general understanding of FERC Code of Regulations, experience in fixed asset accounting and depreciation theory and practices, and supervisory experience.
