Role Overview

The Head of Global Lifestyle Merchandising will spearhead the implementation of HOKA's seasonal strategies and pivotal initiatives across the global market, encompassing both direct-to-consumer and wholesale channels (Right Product, Right Place, Right Time). This role encompasses end-to-end responsibilities, including product line planning, pricing strategies, and franchise management throughout each critical go-to-market phase.
This leader will collaborate closely with product and marketing teams to propel brand priorities and concepts through a comprehensive go-to-market strategy. Accountable for the global three-year product line plan, the Head of Merchandising will deliver a consumer and data-driven strategic vision aimed at surpassing fiscal targets. This role will ensure that direct-to-consumer offerings reflect the essence of HOKA while achieving success in wholesale through distinctive and compelling assortment strategies across all channels. Additionally, this position will oversee seasonal Merchandise Finance Plans and work with Brand Planning to develop detailed product plans that align with revenue and margin objectives. They will also facilitate seasonal transitions for regional partners throughout the go-to-market timeline.
The Head of Merchandising will mentor and develop their team to consistently innovate and apply best merchandising practices while cultivating a positive workplace culture.

Your Contributions
Business Strategy:
- Oversee the entire Global Merchandising go-to-market calendar, ensuring timely delivery of all objectives.
- Accountable for the seasonal product line planning to meet or exceed financial targets and KPIs, ensuring alignment with Brand Planning directives.
- Manage distribution and segmentation strategies on a global scale.
- Develop and implement franchise management strategies across the product portfolio.
- Lead long-term strategies for innovation and cultural influence across the integrated marketplace.
- Create seasonal launch and flow plans to maximize brand activations and capitalize on key commercial opportunities.
- Direct a comprehensive End of Season (EOS) Review biannually to provide insights to product creation teams regarding successes and areas for improvement.
- Establish an in-season feedback loop to inform product and demand creation, as well as regional and executive leadership, about marketplace performance.
- Outline growth strategies across categories, gender classifications, styles/SKUs, and pricing structures.
- Ensure seasonal assortments drive annual sales growth and enhance HOKA's market presence.
- Communicate a deep understanding of the competitive landscape in the footwear and apparel sectors, identifying trends and opportunities to inform merchandising strategies.
- Regularly assess sales performance and inventory to guide in-season strategies.
- Develop Marketplace Long-Range Plans (5 years ahead) in collaboration with Brand Planning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership:
- Lead by example, providing guidance, coaching, and training to the merchandising team, demonstrating a thorough understanding of all roles and responsibilities.
- Act as the primary liaison between Global Product and Brand Planning teams and Regional Merchandising teams.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with cross-functional teams: Product, Brand Planning, DTC, Regions, and Finance.
- Influence the perspectives and actions of others using relevant data and logical reasoning to achieve consensus.
- Maximize both internal and external relationships.
- Provide clear direction by focusing on and communicating the priorities of managing multiple seasons.
- Effectively support the career development of direct reports and the entire team to ensure job satisfaction and future talent growth.
- Serve as a role model across the Deckers organization.
- Provide assortment strategies that align with business metrics, brand priorities, and competitive opportunities.
- Drive effective growth and segmentation strategies.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the competitive landscape and industry trends.
- Ensure a consumer-focused, omni-channel experience across the marketplace through a unified commerce perspective.
- Engage with regions and key stakeholders alongside Sales to understand consumer preferences, trends, and channel specifics.
- Incorporate HOKA consumers' needs into global and regional input templates to enhance our market position.
- Extensive merchandising experience in the lifestyle/athletic sector; expertise in both footwear and apparel is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships.
