The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in executing finance-related functions that encompass financial processes, reporting, analysis, and interpretation. This position provides essential insights to management and offers guidance to Finance and Operations teams regarding these functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reports, analyzing and summarizing results.
- Coordinate financial reporting tasks across various entities, collaborating with local finance and accounting teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of submitted data.
- Lead the planning, forecasting, and analysis of selling, general, and administrative expenses, partnering with functional leaders to enhance financial performance.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, ensuring the accuracy of specific accounts and expenditures.
- Develop a thorough understanding of financial planning systems and support other users through training, report creation, and ad hoc inquiries.
- Enhance monthly planning and forecasting processes, creating new procedures where necessary.
- Maintain a continuous focus on process improvement, particularly in aligning processes across all entities.
- Create and maintain comprehensive procedural documentation.
- Assist with compliance and reporting related to SOX.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with plant finance and accounting teams.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
The following qualifications are essential for this role:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, along with intermediate skills in other Microsoft Office applications.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility.
- Ability to quickly grasp concepts and consider potential solutions and implications.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities through strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail while maintaining a broader perspective.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret financial data, with a solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and internal controls.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive finance or accounting experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Preferred qualifications include a CPA License, CMA License, or MBA.
This position is part of the Accounting and Finance department and reports directly to the Division VP of Finance.
