Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled and proactive Venue Operations Supervisor to manage the operational aspects of a temporary immersive experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a remarkable visitor experience, and shaping the team dynamics and culture. This role involves close collaboration with creative, sponsorship, events, and production teams, as well as coordination with marketing to guarantee the experience meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational management of the venue and a team of 15-20 part-time personnel, including guest services, experience hosts, retail, and on-site audiovisual staff; ensuring a world-class visitor experience through effective and efficient operations.
  • Work in partnership with sales, marketing, special events, and creative teams to ensure all operational requirements are met.
  • Establish and enforce operational policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Manage financial performance and budgets, collaborating closely with the finance team to ensure profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to high standards of experience delivery.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure the experience aligns with the intended artistic vision.
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure all technical aspects of the experience operate smoothly and safely.
  • Monitor guest feedback and work with the team to continuously enhance the experience.
  • Engage with vendors and contractors to ensure the availability and functionality of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, placing orders as needed and ensuring proper maintenance and storage of all equipment.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the venue to identify areas for improvement or maintenance requirements.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with local businesses and organizations to promote the experience and enhance visitor satisfaction.
  • This position requires the ability to perform long hours of standing/sitting and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, theatre production, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in event management, hospitality, or theatre production, with a track record of delivering outstanding visitor experiences.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and manage a team of employees and contractors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards pertinent to event management and hospitality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
