**Position Overview**

The Culinary Operations Supervisor is responsible for the comprehensive management and daily oversight of the kitchen environment within the cooking school. This role encompasses critical areas such as ingredient procurement, upkeep of kitchen facilities and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations, and leadership of kitchen personnel. The primary objective of this position is to ensure that both the culinary classes and kitchen operations function seamlessly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

**Key Skills and Qualifications**

• Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills.

• Proven experience in personnel management, with a preference for at least one year in a supervisory role within a kitchen setting.

• Proficient in various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn new technologies.

• Capability to perform occasional heavy lifting.

• Experience in sourcing ingredients from local markets and establishing rapport with local farmers. A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle for shopping purposes are required.

**Core Responsibilities**

• Supervise kitchen staff, including recruitment and training.

• Oversee the procurement of all food items and necessary equipment for classes and events.

• Ensure the daily maintenance and organization of kitchen areas and back-of-house operations.

• Manage the preparation, receiving areas, and classroom kitchens, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.

• Oversee the care and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.

• Collaborate with other staff members to monitor and order supplies on a weekly basis.

• Handle the receipt and management of deliveries.

• Ensure that all ingredients are prepped and ready for each class.

• Develop and implement procedures aimed at continuously enhancing the efficiency of back-of-house operations.

**Work Schedule**

• The position requires a commitment of five days a week, with eight-hour shifts and some flexibility. Availability to shop at local farmers markets is essential.
