The Senior Manager of Agile Product Strategy will oversee one or more portfolio management areas for UM Core and Channel Services. You will lead a team dedicated to product management, vision, intake, prioritization, planning, value delivery, reporting, governance, and oversight. Your work will be within a matrix environment, managing various sizes of multi-functional projects and programs. A passion for developing team capabilities and skills is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the value delivery of a critical discipline within the capabilities/products.
  • Manage product portfolio intake, coordinating the assessment of new project requests.
  • Create and distribute relevant value-added reports for the portfolio, including epic level status reports, portfolio scorecards, and delivery metrics.
  • Establish, implement, and enforce agile portfolio governance processes.
  • Handle escalated intake, prioritization, or delivery issues.
  • Conduct periodic demand analysis and provide recommendations for seasonal adjustments.
  • Support epic refinement, decomposition, and prioritization.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce a clear and consistent product portfolio prioritization and planning methodology.
  • Establish processes to track, measure, and publish value and cost management.
  • Gather and report on the business value associated with each portfolio request.
  • Document and share the overall portfolio roadmap with key milestones, incorporating input from portfolio leads and Product Owners.
  • Translate strategy into a vision and roadmap for the portfolio.
  • Implement and support Product Increment (PI) planning processes, including preparation and review of planning outcomes.
  • Coordinate portfolio governance, reporting, and oversight with regional portfolio leads as necessary.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and actively work to enhance the people, product, and process.
  • Build alignment across product/capability teams and cross-functional leaders through effective communication and strategic influence.
  • Develop new capabilities or products with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Continuously improve skills and competencies by engaging in various internal and external training opportunities and stretch assignments.
  • Drive the organization, people, and processes toward a high-performance, customer-centric culture of quality.
  • Develop teams comprising Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Technology Product Owners, and Business/Systems Analysts.
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with teammates, staff, and matrix partners.
  • Exhibit self-direction and the ability to lead a team of professionals within and across matrix partner organizations.
  • Collaborate effectively with larger groups from diverse organizations and report to senior executives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to navigate ambiguity and work under pressure.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. PMP or other recognized PM certification and Scrum Master Certification(s) are desirable.
  • 10+ years in IT Program Management within a large matrixed organization.
  • Strong experience in project collaboration and communications execution.
  • Extensive knowledge of key components of SDLC and critical PM elements (scope, time, costs, quality, HR, communications, risk mitigation, integration, etc.).
  • A consultative mentality with formal consulting experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in dashboarding and management-level reporting.
  • Familiarity with healthcare is a plus.
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and systems.
