Product Strategy Manager

The Product Strategy Manager is tasked with overseeing the creation and success of product strategies for the designated product line. This role involves managing the identification, evaluation, and implementation of products and services, including the development and management of the product roadmap and lifecycle. Acting as the product expert, the manager collaborates with internal teams and external clients to gather insights, formulate strategies, define requirements, and engage in implementation processes. This position works cross-functionally within the organization to foster innovation, growth, and efficiency through effective product development. Additionally, the manager monitors product performance and suggests strategies, which may encompass new offerings, enhancements, or the discontinuation of underperforming products or features. The manager plays a crucial role in driving overall product success, impacting membership growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, and other essential operational metrics.

  • Establishes a comprehensive product vision, strategy, and roadmap that aligns with organizational objectives and meets customer demands. This includes prioritizing product features and defining timelines.
  • Conducts thorough market analysis to gather insights on customer needs, preferences, and trends that inform product decisions.
  • Collaborates with various business partners to collect relevant market intelligence, stakeholder feedback, and regulatory requirements to create a robust product roadmap.
  • Engages with competitive intelligence teams to track local and national competitor products, strategies, and industry trends.
  • Oversees the product lifecycle by assessing product performance to gauge success, making necessary adjustments to enhance performance, or recommending the consolidation or discontinuation of underperforming products.
  • Leads the formulation of business proposals for product portfolio enhancements, identifying opportunities, estimated costs, and operational impacts of proposed changes.
  • Works closely with sales and marketing teams to devise go-to-market strategies, pricing, and positioning for products, including messaging and support for product launches.
  • Develops and delivers training for sales and brokers on new products or enhancements.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Product Strategy Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Care Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years' experience in product management or closely related roles.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment. Strong knowledge of health insurance products and proficiency in MS Office applications.
