Role & Responsibilities

  • Technology Vision and Strategy
    • Define and execute the agency's technical vision and strategy in alignment with company goals and industry trends.
    • Drive innovation, exploring emerging technologies to enhance e-commerce capabilities and client offerings.
  • Platform Migration Management
    • Lead end-to-end platform migration projects, specifically transitioning clients from complex platforms to Shopify.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies, mitigate risks, and solve challenges.
  • Process and Workflow Optimization
    • Establish and refine development processes to improve efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
    • Implement standards for coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
  • Technical Oversight
    • Oversee all development projects, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and meet client expectations and agency standards.
    • Lead architectural decisions and provide guidance on complex problem-solving.
  • Resource Allocation
    • Manage technical resources, including staff allocation and freelance contractors.
    • Prioritize projects and allocate resources in collaboration with the Head of Delivery or Director of Operations.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead, mentor, and support the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide growth opportunities for team members.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Designers, and Strategists to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Partner with Account Managers and Client Services teams to communicate technical concepts to clients.
  • Client Engagement
    • Participate in high-level client meetings as the technical representative.
    • Provide technical input in pre-sales and scoping discussions.
  • Quality Assurance and Security
    • Oversee and establish QA processes, ensuring products meet high standards of functionality, security, and performance.
    • Implement data protection and security measures in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
    • Monitor industry trends in e-commerce technology, particularly around Shopify and emerging software.
    • Regularly assess and recommend improvements in technology stack, tools, and software.

Requirements

We're looking for a seasoned e-commerce professional with a strong background in Shopify, frontend and backend technologies, and leadership experience. If you're passionate about driving innovation and delivering high-quality e-commerce solutions, we'd love to hear from you.

About You

  • Proven expertise in e-commerce platforms, with a focus on Shopify.
  • Strong background in frontend and backend technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale replatforming initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data structure, mapping, and API integration challenges.
  • 5+ years in a technical leadership role, managing development teams and overseeing project delivery.
  • Strong people management skills, including hiring, mentoring, and managing performance.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Monday.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically, aligning technical goals with business objectives and growth opportunities.
