Sales Engineer

LG Chem America, Inc. is at the forefront of the chemical industry, striving to become a 'Global Top 5 Chemical Company' with a diverse business portfolio that includes petrochemicals, advanced materials, life sciences, and battery solutions.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated individual with a proactive approach to sales for a newly established position within our team. This role will initially focus on managing existing accounts while transitioning to the development of new business opportunities across North America. Collaboration with team members both domestically and internationally will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and cultivate new customer relationships and market opportunities for petrochemical products in North America to enhance team sales performance.
2. Conduct thorough market research to gather insights on supply and demand dynamics within the U.S. market.
3. Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and visits to assess needs and provide tailored solutions.
4. Prepare and deliver impactful presentations, proposals, and sales quotations.
5. Analyze industry trends and pricing strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
6. Maintain accurate sales performance reports and manage the sales pipeline effectively using Salesforce.
7. Oversee logistics and shipment processes through the SAP system to ensure timely delivery of products.
8. Follow up on accounts receivable to minimize aging and ensure timely collection of payments.
9. Collaborate with headquarters to drive business growth and expansion.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3-5 years of relevant sales experience in the petrochemical or chemical sector, or in B2B technical product sales.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines while delivering insightful analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with global teams across marketing, engineering, R&D, and production.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Familiarity with SAP (ERP) systems is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
Preferred:
- Experience in an entrepreneurial setting.
- Capability to develop and evaluate performance metrics.
- Understanding of company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of competitive products and industry trends.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 45 pounds.
- Adaptability to various work environments and manufacturing settings.
