Job Title: Project Manager

Join the State of Washington's Department of Ecology as a Project Manager, where you will play a crucial role in managing construction, renovation, and maintenance projects for the agency statewide. As a key member of the Administrative Services Division, you will oversee the work of consultants and project support staff, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction, renovation, and maintenance projects for the Department of Ecology statewide.
  • Direct the work of consultants and assigned project support staff.
  • Monitor the work of contractors for assigned facilities projects.
  • Prepare analyses of construction costs and prepare cost estimates based on facilities planning, conceptual studies, and bid comparison of projects for design, renovation, and/or construction.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to address issues impacting day-to-day operations throughout the state.
Requirements:
  • Eight years of experience and/or education in real property construction as a cost estimator involving the preparation of cost estimates for major real property development.
  • Education involving a major study in architecture, engineering, construction management, business administration, strategic planning, or closely allied field.
  • Skills in building, leading, and sustaining effective project teams in a dynamic diverse environment.
  • Knowledge of site development and building construction, including the ability to read drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of established project management approach to project initiation, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of real estate acquisition and disposal, property leases, property law, and lease negotiations.
