Position Overview:

The Administrative Services Division of the State of Washington is seeking to fill a Construction Project Supervisor role.

This position involves overseeing construction, renovation, and maintenance initiatives across the state.

You will lead the efforts of consultants and project support personnel, ensuring that contractors adhere to project specifications.

Your responsibilities will include preparing detailed analyses of construction expenses and generating cost estimates based on facilities planning, conceptual evaluations, and project bid comparisons.

Program Mission:

The Administrative Services Office aims to deliver exceptional customer service and asset management to fulfill the agency's ongoing and future operational requirements.

This role offers telecommuting options: while primarily based at our headquarters, you will provide consistent support to various facilities throughout the region.

Some travel will be necessary to visit sites and oversee projects, with eligibility for telecommuting up to two days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe and efficient facilities for staff and equipment necessary for agency operations.
  • Act as the liaison for Administrative Services, addressing issues that affect business functions in regional offices.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage unique projects from initial planning through to completion.
  • Regularly visit regional facilities to strengthen relationships with clients and partners.
  • Provide guidance in identifying root causes and developing appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute as an active, cooperative team member and effective leader.

Required Qualifications:
A total of eight years of relevant experience and/or education, including:

Experience:

in real property construction as a cost estimator, specifically in preparing cost estimates for major property developments.


Education:
in fields such as architecture, engineering, construction management, business administration, or strategic planning.

Essential Skills:
Proficiency in building and leading effective project teams in a diverse environment. The ability to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with various stakeholders is crucial.
Knowledge of site development and construction, including the ability to interpret drawings and specifications. Familiarity with established project management methodologies regarding initiation, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, and risk management.
Understanding of real estate acquisition, property leases, property law, and lease negotiations.

Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
