Position Overview:

As a part of Flatiron's esteemed Intern Program, you will engage with top-tier professionals in the construction industry. This program offers a unique opportunity for college students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management to gain practical experience.

In this internship, you will apply your academic knowledge in a real-world environment across various project sites. Your role will involve assisting project managers, engineers, and the on-site construction team in utilizing engineering principles, methodologies, and technologies through a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate field conditions and conduct acceptance testing.
  • Support quality assurance and control through engineering materials testing.
  • Utilize surveying skills to aid in project layout and verify compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Review project documentation and manage any necessary design modifications.
  • Assist with document control for correspondence, submittals, and design releases.
  • Initiate clarifications for engineering designs.
  • Track quantities and analyze productivity to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Help prepare and update project schedules, collaborating with all stakeholders involved in scheduling decisions.
  • Respond to field inquiries for design clarifications and oversee subcontractor operations, ensuring contract compliance.
  • Provide design support to project engineers for temporary structures using CAD tools.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
