We are seeking a dedicated Construction Engineering Specialist to contribute to our projects.
Position Summary:
- The individual will oversee virtual construction requirements across various departments including Preconstruction, Construction Operations, and Consulting/Litigation Support Services.
- This role requires proficiency in all VDC software utilized by W.M. Klorman Construction Corp.
- The ideal candidate is self-driven, adaptable, and committed to embracing new challenges.
- While primarily based in a designated office, travel to job sites and partner locations may be necessary.
- This position reports directly to the Virtual Design & Construction Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage 3D object-oriented models.
- Oversee project documentation including drawing updates, RFIs, submittals, PCOs, and NOCs using platforms such as Prolog and ProjectSight.
- Handle subcontractor RFIs and submittals efficiently.
- Create detailed concrete shop drawings, including lift and formwork drawings for field application.
- Conduct contract drawing reviews for constructability and issue RFIs as necessary.
- Generate layout information for Robotic Total Station.
- Engage in project BIM coordination and clash detection activities.
- Produce logistic drawings utilizing TEKLA, Sketchup, REVIT, and other relevant software.
- Compile model-based quantity reports and integrate actual scheduling information into the model.
- Execute 3D scanning with appropriate equipment.
- Develop as-built models based on 3D scanned data or survey results.
- Create 4D/5D visual simulations incorporating BIM, time, and cost using tools like Navisworks or Synchro.
- Support Preconstruction and Business Development initiatives by creating pursuit models and photorealistic renderings.
- Deliver presentation-quality rendered models and fly-throughs while managing RFIs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a construction-related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred 2+ years of experience in the building or design industry.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and utilize construction drawings independently.
- Familiarity with VDC or BIM concepts.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems such as Autodesk Revit, Bentley, Vico Constructor, TEKLA, Synchro, Navisworks, Sketchup, and similar software is essential.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
- Excellent personal management skills, including dedication, organization, and open-mindedness.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment.
