Position Overview

The role of the Project Engineer at Swinerton Incorporated involves a competitive annual salary of $95,400.00. This position supports management in achieving project profitability and adhering to schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform essential duties associated with Entry Level/Intern Project Engineer roles.
  • Attend and document project meetings, including writing minutes.
  • Establish and maintain an electronic filing system.
  • Update and manage all sets of drawings, specifications, and logs.
  • Assist in the preparation of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
  • Support the updating and maintenance of the master CPM schedule.
  • Evaluate and comprehend basic construction means and methods.
  • Maintain a site-specific safety plan and pre-task planning process, including audits and training.
  • Distribute documents to subcontractors and maintain document logs.
  • Assess field issues and document Project Change Instructions (PCI).
  • Prepare and maintain PCI logs using the CMiC system.
  • Review, analyze, and transmit submittals.
  • Prepare and maintain submittal and procurement logs.
  • Perform expediting functions as necessary.
  • Verify correct coding on time sheets and cost codes.
  • Code Accounts Payable workflows as assigned.
  • Verify original estimate quantities for labor cost reports.
  • Report quantities in place and maintain labor cost reports.
  • Prepare and document extra work orders.
  • Review and compile change order submittals and quantity surveys.
  • Maintain PCI logs in the CMiC system.
  • Establish and uphold a Quality Management system.
  • Maintain a progress photo album.
  • Compile contract closeout documents, including O&M manuals and as-builts.
  • Maintain record set drawings and document punch list work.
  • Perform basic functions of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and model administration.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or completion of a Construction Management Certificate Program, or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of construction-related experience, or equivalent.
  • Preferred construction-related internship experience.
  • Field experience, such as carpentry, is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of construction cost accounting.
  • Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and self-initiate tasks.
  • Advanced drafting and computer skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of virtual construction technology systems is preferred.
