Job Overview

Construction Project Engineer

  • Evaluate, monitor, manage, and disseminate submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Change (RFCs), design submissions, shop drawings, product specifications, and operational plans. Assess submittals, deliverables, and various construction documents for thoroughness and precision.
  • Collect, document, and organize review feedback. Keep an updated inventory of submittals, deliverables, and other construction documentation.
  • Provide updates on the status of submittal, RFI, and design submission evaluations during project meetings.
  • Create and maintain data spreadsheets. Regularly update and utilize project management software.
  • Preserve a collection of updated drawings and specifications that encompass, but are not limited to, scope and contract drawings, design progress drawings, Approved for Construction (AFC) drawings, shop drawings, contract specifications, and AFC specifications.
  • Draft operational plans, drawings, safety protocols, maintenance needs, training requirements, specifications, cost estimates, and operational necessities. Analyze data, specifications, and drawings/blueprints. Aid in supervising work to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, technical standards, safety, and legal obligations. Review new regulations and codes for project relevance. Prepare technical documentation, feasibility assessments, economic evaluations, and correspondence. Assist in coordinating efforts with external agencies. Maintain project files and documentation. Interpret contract specifications, codes, and safety regulations. Oversee junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Approximately five (5) years of experience in large-scale construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Engineer-in-training registration is mandatory. Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
