Job Title: Nuclear Engineer - Field Operations
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and oversight to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct highly visible work with a broad spectrum of responsibility, including technical support, consultation, and oversight through the performance of installation, testing, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of complex equipment and nuclear systems.
- Engage in a shipboard industrial environment, meeting directly with ship's force, senior shipyard leadership, and Naval Reactors.
- Provide technical direction for problem resolution and oversee compliance with contractual requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new products and equipment upgrades as necessary.
- Function independently to ensure the best interests of the Company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or SRE qualified.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in applying innovative solutions to resolve problems/improve performance.
- Prior Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operational or design experience is desired but not required.
- Strong leadership and mentoring ability.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
- Experience working with US Navy Nuclear Fleet and/or nuclear capable shipyard.
