About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Procurement Engineering Services unit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet operational, design, regulatory, and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory requestors to develop technical specifications and ensure quality assurance requirements are met.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers based on future business needs and recommend process improvements.
  • Apply lean and 6 Sigma principles to technical and procurement-related processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field, or a Master's degree in a related field with relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience, or 4 years with a Master's degree.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, technical specifications, and quality assurance requirements.
Preferred Skills

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Reviewing and developing technical specifications, functional requirements, and drawings.
  • Machine and fabrication, construction, and/or service contracts.
  • Document reviews, engineering evaluations/analysis, and providing subject matter expertise on regulated areas.
  • Developing with Microsoft PowerApps.
  • Quality and safety standards such as NQA-1, OSHA, ISO 9000.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is $92,145.20, based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
