Position Overview
The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of specialized chemistry software utilized across the Naval Nuclear Fleet for advanced calculations, trending, and reporting of chemistry data.
This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle, the ability to produce high-quality code, and the capability to identify and address vulnerabilities in accordance with cybersecurity principles.
Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to assess, recommend, and implement enhancements to programs and processes based on the latest advancements in information technology.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related field with 6 years of relevant experience; or
- A Master's degree in an engineering or science-related field with 4 years of relevant experience; or
- Current or previous Shift Supervisor Part I qualification; or
- EDO qualification with 2 years EOOW qualification in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
- 3 years SRE qualification along with Water Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only); or
- SRE qualification with 6 years of experience.
Preferred Skills
Experience with one or more of the following:
- C#, Visual Basic, and the .NET framework
- Expertise in software engineering practices and software lifecycle models
- Experience in a Dev/Ops environment utilizing a Continuous Integration strategy
- Familiarity with database architectures and cybersecurity principles
- Strong IT troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Salary Information
The annual salary for this position ranges from $92,000 to $145,200, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
All candidates must be U.S. citizens and will undergo a Federal background investigation to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
