Your Role:

We are looking for a Hybrid Associate Risk Management Specialist based in Nashville, TN, to join our Multi-Asset and Hedge Fund Solutions Risk Management and Associate Portfolio Management Teams. This role primarily involves participating in the trade execution process while ensuring adherence to the firm's error management and operational excellence framework within the Multi-Asset and Hedge Fund Solutions business unit. The Portfolio Management Group supports the investment team in executing portfolio strategies across client accounts.

As a Risk Management Specialist, you will collaborate with various departments to document and rectify errors, identify underlying process weaknesses, and propose enhancements to bolster our continuous improvement and risk mitigation initiatives. The immediate focus of this position is on error correction and reporting, with a strong emphasis on identifying, escalating, mitigating, and preventing further risks. This role will also work closely with the Portfolio Implementation team, offering opportunities for cross-training and support within the Multi-Asset Strategies team. You will report directly to the Multi-Asset Strategies Risk Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Implementation:
  • Executing investment decisions for managed accounts and funds.
  • Monitoring portfolio positioning, trade executions, cash management, and compliance with client guidelines on a daily basis.
  • Adjusting fund allocations within strategies to align with managerial targets.
  • Managing client requests and events throughout the client lifecycle, including cash flows, transitions, and account management.
  • Coordinating with internal departments such as Portfolio Management, Research, Legal and Compliance, Sales and Marketing, Trading, and Operations.
  • Leading project initiatives focused on process enhancement and strategy implementation.
  • Evaluating current workflows for opportunities to automate and improve manual processes.
  • Effectively managing the error resolution process for the Multi-Asset and Hedge Fund Solutions unit, which includes:
    • Collaborating with portfolio managers and traders to address market exposure due to trading errors.
    • Facilitating discussions for root cause analysis of procedural breaches.
    • Notifying senior management of significant issues.
    • Coordinating with Client Servicing and Fund Administration teams regarding impacts on client accounts and funds.
    • Assisting in the development of remediation strategies with business and risk management.
    • Working with senior risk management professionals to highlight critical areas of concern.
  • Supporting the Risk Manager in error trend analysis and operational risk projects, which involves:
    • Collaborating with firm-wide error coordinators to share best practices.
    • Leading projects to implement risk mitigation strategies.
    • Partnering with Regional Risk Managers on global initiatives affecting the Multi-Asset Strategies account base.
    • Participating in periodic reviews of Risk Maps with business partners.
    • Identifying and monitoring Key Risk Indicators.
    • Engaging in working groups focused on operational risk management.
    • Streamlining internal reporting processes.
    • Participating in industry forums.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in operational risk or process management.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to achieve consensus among senior management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Team-oriented with experience in a global team environment.
  • Intermediate understanding of financial markets.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis.
  • Basic coding skills in technologies such as Python and SQL are a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
