Job Summary

The First Line Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the bank's First Line of Defense for compliance. This position is responsible for supporting the First Line Compliance Manager and partnering with various segments of the bank to develop, implement, and execute first line controls and monitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, or monthly quality control reviews of critical bank compliance processes and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic testing of procedures as governed by the bank's Enterprise Risk Management function.
  • Support the First Line compliance manager in responding to second-line compliance monitors.
  • Research compliance areas to ensure a thorough understanding of audit recommendations and findings.
  • Develop best practices for ongoing quality control reviews of bank compliance.
  • Review governing processes and procedures for specific bank functions and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Support the bank's goal of validating existing controls are consistently applied.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of banking regulations.
  • Understanding of bank processes and procedures related to bank operations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with all levels within the company.
  • Willingness to complete training courses to enhance work experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years or more experience in bank compliance and areas of bank operations or a combination thereof.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Compliance certifications are a plus.
