KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to pinpoint potential threats to the company's properties, operations, and financial health.
  • Formulate and enforce risk management policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and oversee insurance claims related to property damage, liability, and other risks, collaborating closely with insurance providers for effective resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all property management activities, staying informed on industry standards.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents on company properties, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Design and deliver risk management training programs for staff and property managers to enhance awareness and adherence to best practices.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive risk management reports to senior leadership, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and incident analyses.
  • Evaluate and manage third-party vendors to ensure compliance with risk management standards and policies.
  • Develop and maintain a crisis management plan to address potential emergencies or unforeseen events impacting properties and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM)) is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the property management or real estate sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
  • Understanding of property management operations and associated regulations.
  • Relevant risk management certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk
  • Frequently required to communicate verbally
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate
  • Ability to withstand seasonal outdoor temperatures is necessary
