KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to pinpoint potential threats to the company's properties, operations, and financial health.
- Formulate and enforce risk management policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Manage and oversee insurance claims related to property damage, liability, and other risks, collaborating closely with insurance providers for effective resolution.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all property management activities, staying informed on industry standards.
- Investigate incidents and accidents on company properties, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Design and deliver risk management training programs for staff and property managers to enhance awareness and adherence to best practices.
- Prepare and present comprehensive risk management reports to senior leadership, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and incident analyses.
- Evaluate and manage third-party vendors to ensure compliance with risk management standards and policies.
- Develop and maintain a crisis management plan to address potential emergencies or unforeseen events impacting properties and operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM)) is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the property management or real estate sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
- Understanding of property management operations and associated regulations.
- Relevant risk management certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk
- Frequently required to communicate verbally
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate
- Ability to withstand seasonal outdoor temperatures is necessary
