Position Overview

This role involves the creation of statistically grounded models and assumptions for capital and liquidity stress testing, as well as loan behavior modeling, including prepayments and defaults. The incumbent will oversee, evaluate, and enhance Credit Risk models, particularly those sourced from third parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, implementation, calibration, testing, and monitoring of the Bank's third-party Credit Risk models (including Moody's RiskCalc, CMM, Portfolio Analyzer models, etc.).
  • Develop and manage an Economic Capital model utilized within the Treasury and Profitability divisions.
  • Create models to forecast loan behavior assumptions that support Credit Risk and Treasury functions (e.g., prepayments, renewals, defaults, utilization, construction funding, etc.).
  • Lead and enhance the Capital Stress Testing program.
  • Ensure all departmental activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including the completion of necessary compliance training.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as procedure manuals, business correspondence, and government regulations.
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting financial reports and legal documents.
  • Adept at writing routine reports, procedures, and business correspondence.
  • Capable of responding in writing to customer inquiries, regulatory bodies, or business community members.
  • Effective in presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in delivering presentations to larger groups, including customers and management.
Education and Experience
  • Master's degree; advanced education in economic modeling, financial modeling, applied mathematics, statistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in loan portfolio/credit risk modeling, ideally within a financial institution.
  • Familiarity with Moody's suite of credit risk models.
  • Experience in liquidity and capital stress testing models.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Experience coding and modeling in Python or R.
  • Skilled in SQL coding.
